Job Summary The Senior Director works collaboratively with others in the department to lead, direct, and oversee activities associated with physical planning including master plans, land use plans, space management and program plans, and environmental compliance, capital planning including development of capital outlay plans and ensuring compliance with CSU and other regulatory processes during project planning and execution, and real estate management including entitlements, property management, and assigned development activities. To include development and organization of an online plan room containing University records as related to its property and physical space Conducts meetings necessary to manage all aspects of the physical planning portfolio including with University representatives and stakeholders, architects, engineers, special consultants, California State University officials, and local, state and federal agencies having jurisdiction Reviews proposed construction projects and participates in design review efforts as well as provides advice and guidance to project teams to ensure compliance with University master plans, land use plans, and standards Ensures requirements as related to CEQA/EIR and other land use regulatory authorities are met for all projects, including those which may be pursued independently by campus auxiliaries. Job Summary Reporting Director, New Student and Family Programs, the Parent and Family Program Coordinator performs duties under general supervision and takes work lead direction from the Assistant Director, New Student and Family Programs. The incumbent will lead the coordination of orientation programs, with specific focus on parent and family member programming and resources that support student success and university affinity. This coordinator will provide support to the transition of first year students by leading the development of Parent/Family Orientation programs, Parent and Family Weekend, the SJSU Family Advisory Board and its committees and projects. The coordinator will also lead administrative components for the department including the development of an academic planner for students and parents/families, parent/family newsletters and parent portal, and parent and family webpages. Key Responsibilities Support programmatic efforts during Frosh and Transfer Orientation, including but not limited to set up, assisting with morning/debrief meetings, providing effective customer service to all participants, and facilitation of sessions. Assist with the assembly and creation of parent and family program materials (e.g., giveaways, daily schedule of events, handouts, evaluations, planners, promotional materials, etc.). Develop and facilitate Parent/Family Orientation sessions including programs that take place 45% concurrently with Frosh/Transfer Orientation as well as evening, off-site, and online programs, in collaboration with campus partners and the Family Advisory Board. Communicate with campus partners to confirm participation of guest speakers and panelists for Parent/Family Orientation sessions and any other parent and family programs. Job Summary Reporting Director, New Student and Family Programs, the Parent and Family Program Coordinator performs duties under general supervision and takes work lead direction from the Assistant Director, New Student and Family Programs. The incumbent will lead the coordination of orientation programs, with specific focus on parent and family member programming and resources that support student success and university affinity. This coordinator will provide support to the transition of first year students by leading the development of Parent/Family Orientation programs, Parent and Family Weekend, the SJSU Family Advisory Board and its committees and projects. The coordinator will also lead administrative components for the department including the development of an academic planner for students and parents/families, parent/family newsletters and parent portal, and parent and family webpages. Key Responsibilities Support programmatic efforts during Frosh and Transfer Orientation, including but not limited to set up, assisting with morning/debrief meetings, providing effective customer service to all participants, and facilitation of sessions. Progressively responsible planning, estimating, and scheduling experience preferably in the public sector design and/or construction work. 2. Demonstrated knowledge of building materials, costing procedures, and the sequential methods of modern construction practices so that various trades are effectively coordinated into the project to ensure continuous progress towards timely job completion. 3. Knowledge of the time required for performing various segments of construction and repair work is necessary in order to properly schedule work. 4. Demonstrated knowledge of the building codes (including accessibility compliance) and trades is also required to enable the incumbent to write complete and concise specifications to accompany plans for contract jobs. 5. A general knowledge of State contracting procedures is also desired. 6. Demonstrated knowledge of the requirements for the proper installation and maintenance of building equipment and infrastructure systems. 7. General knowledge of budgeting procedures including an understanding of price changes due to inflation and other economic factors. 8. Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates including the verification of estimates by others. 9. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications for all phases of construction and building maintenance. 10. Ability to draw, print, and updated in AutoCAD is preferred. 11.
