PURPOSE : Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communication and the daily lead oversight of the Marketing Strategy Lead, the incumbent will implement plans, using established procedures and process to develop and create marketing materials, publication designs, invitations and other communications for University Communications and its clients using templates and other structured creative strategies. The incumbent will work under the oversight of a lead staff member to design, layout, disseminate, track, and gather information to evaluate a verity of digital and print publications and use a verity of publications methods, collecting identified information to update reports on their effectiveness. The Specialist also creates a verity of materials, templates, and finished products to support university programs, service, and strategic objectives. Serves as the primary advisor to and oversees the activities of the student assistants on the AS Marketing and Communications team. In coordination with the AS Senior Coordinator for G&O, the AS President, and the Director of SELD, plans leadership development and team building activities and retreats for the AS student leaders, and contributes to departmental leadership and professional development initiatives. Provides training and advising to AS student employees and volunteers in event planning, contracting, event execution, risk management, advertising and budgeting. Facilitates student-centered self-governance, ethical behavior and financial stewardship. Applies CSU, CSUMB, Student Life, SELD, and AS operating policies and procedures in helping to develop, organize, prioritize, and monitor programmatic operations for the AS; provides daily work supervision to assigned student staff, evaluates their performance, establishes work agendas in accordance with deadlines and monitors work to completion, making appropriate recommendations as needed; ability to problem solve during planning and events; and manage complex programming and events. Briefs the Director of SELD and the AS Senior Coordinator for G&O regarding progress of routine work and special projects. Provides analyses, training, guidance, and oversight of the fiscal and budgetary practices of the AS committees, Otter Media, Farmers Market, and other special projects in collaboration with the Director of SELD, the AS Senior Coordinator for G&O and the SELD Analyst. Evaluates and reviews all expenditures of those committees to ensure that the AS is following sound fiscal practices and is in compliance with applicable CSU and AS policies. Provides direct supervision and programming advising to the Otter Media Station Managers and volunteers. Supports the management of the space, tracking of inventory, provides oversight and guidance regarding events and booking requests, and oversees the scheduling of volunteers and service learners. Has oversight for the hiring, training, and evaluation of OM Station Managers. Conducts regular assessments of AS programming, the co-curricular learning outcomes adopted by the University, and the development of various competencies that support the career readiness of assigned student staff. Employs data obtained through these assessments to make programmatic, personnel, and operational adjustments and enhancements that support greater AS effectiveness and efficiency of the programs and communications provided to the CSUMB student body. PURPOSE : Under the general supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, with daily oversight by the Department Chair of the Mechatronics Engineering Department (MECHA), and in collaboration with other faculty and staff; the Educational Pathway Advisor develops and oversees a broad range of programs and processes that support the academic and professional success of the students in the Mechatronics Engineering program. This includes internship placement and tracking, career development, recruitment, admissions, retention, communications, and student success. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following : Develop, track, and manage internship opportunities. Develop internship opportunities and serve as a liaison with industry partners, government agencies, and other organizations to provide internship placements for engineering students. Ensures compliance with all CSUMB and partner organizations. Maintains complete and organized records of all partnerships and student placements. Provides information for students and partner organizations as needed. Assist students with career development. Provide students customized career advising that aligns students’ career goals with the knowledge and skills acquired in the engineering program. Support students in pursuing their educational and career goals by providing information about occupational and educational requirements and how they relate to student aptitudes, skills, interests and abilities.
