The position will work as a plans reviewer and will be assigned to work in coordination with the Development Service Department. The following additional job duties and responsibilities will apply: Review building permit plan submittals for a variety of proposed new construction projects for compliance with the Austin Fire Code. Fire protection related building permit review items include identifying required fire protection systems and features, protection features for the installation of hazardous materials systems, and mechanical smoke control systems. Assist Austin Fire Special Events group in reviewing temporary change of use and special event occupant load and egress plans.
