Summary Maintains and repairs storm water drainage structures in the City of Lancaster by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Acts as Crew Leader in Absence of Heavy Equipment Operator II. Use of heavy equipment to clean drainage pipes, ditches, channels, easements, flumes, under bridges, and creeks within the boundary of the roadway and right-of-ways. Trims trees, bushes, and other vegetation, to ensure proper drainage inside City owned right-of-ways as well as other drainage structures. Work with Streets department to assist with the completion of assignments and special projects including but not limited to repairing roads with asphalt and concrete work, hauling excavated dirt, rock, concrete, and debris, etc. Assists in establishing traffic control to ensure safety of site. Use of concrete work to repair, maintain, and replace storm water drainage headwalls, flumes, spillways, and approach and departure slabs on both ends of the culverts. Required to work on-call and overtime as needed. Must be able to work odd hours, weekends, and overtime, particularly during snow season. THE POSITION THIS POSITION IS IN THE WASTEWATER DIVISION The Utilities Operations and Maintenance Leadworker, in the Wastewater Collections division, is responsible for the technical supervision and safety of a Wastewater field crew. THE POSITION THIS POSITION IS IN THE WASTEWATER DIVISION The Utilities Operations and Maintenance Leadworker, in the Wastewater Collections division, is responsible for the technical supervision and safety of a Wastewater field crew. In addition, this position is responsible for the more complex and difficult construction, repair, and maintenance tasks in the Wastewater Collections Systems. IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and be capable of working with multiple people assigned to their field crew. The ideal candidate will be capable of making independent good decisions to accomplish their daily tasks, in a safe, efficient manner. They will have knowledge of Wastewater Collections regulations, procedures, and operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties are typical for this classification.
