The Sr. Designer/Coordinator will function as the project manager of the following areas: design, develop, and launch a fully online Prison Guard Certificate Program and Prison Guard B.A. in partnership with the college of PaGE and UCSF Amend; strategically design and develop extended education online programs at Cal State LA in partnership with the PaGE; architect new and innovative online program offerings not currently available in the online learning marketplace (e.g., flexible degree paths, stackable certificates); coordinate with a team of faculty subject matter experts, the Director of Programs and Workforce Development at the College of PaGE, and other instructional support professionals to lead the design and implementation of any proposed self-support on line programs and/or certificates, ensuring exceptional learner experiences to outside-of-campus audiences; provide day-to-day operational oversight of the campus Online Course Development Program (OCDP), which supports the development of 100 hybrid/online courses each year; collaborate closely with faculty and college leadership teams to align online and hybrid course content with program objectives, accreditation standards, and best practices in online education; provide day-to-day operational oversight of online quality assurance efforts, including Quality Matters course reviews and course certifications; develop novel, professional learning opportunities for lecturers, tenure-track, and tenured faculty, addressing pressing issues facing higher education teaching and learning related to online learning; design and create short and long form programming, offered live in-person/online, or asynchronously. About the Position: The Division of Information Technology (IT) strives to be a strategic, innovative, and best-in-class IT organization that provides a leading-edge technology environment for students, faculty, and staff to advance the University’s mission, vision, and goals. We seek an exceptional individual to join our IT- Enterprise Resource Planning team as the Analyst/Programmer - Career. The Analyst/Programmer - Career leads the interaction with business users and business analyst to develop specifications, performs system design, and develops complex application programs and troubleshoots the application. Implements and documents complex application programs based on the policies and procedures in the campus PeopleSoft (Common Management System) applications. Works in a team of technical staff that develops and maintains the various modules of Campus Solution application as primary and other modules such as but not limited to HR, and Finance as secondary. Leads and provides technical subject matter expertise on development of technical projects, primarily on PeopleSoft technology. Works with other staff members to handle day-to-day operation tasks that includes troubleshooting, reporting needs, security, setup/monitoring of batch jobs and related communication. Learns new technology and train other technical staff as needed. Other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field with two years of relevant full-time experience or the equivalent part-time experience. Eight years of relevant full-time experience may be substituted for the previously listed education and experience requirement. Functional knowledge of the specialty area demonstrated by an understanding and use of advanced principles and theories. Ability to integrate work related knowledge to address problems. Demonstrated competency in applying standard and non-standard technology applications and exploring and adapting to changing technology. Ability to independently apply technical judgment, recognize problems, use reasoning and logic to establish possible causes, interpret and apply theories and principles, generate alternative solutions, and implement a plan of action for the best resolution. Ability to develop solutions where precedents do not always exist. Ability to be proactive, anticipate outcomes and consequences of different approaches, and make modifications to action plans. Demonstrated competence interpreting and communicating information. Demonstrated reflective listening skills when working with others. Ability to assist others in completing assignments and provide work direction and training to others on new skills and procedures. Ability to plan and work on shared projects. Minimum three years of working experience in understanding, developing and/or programming SQR, BI Publisher, Application Engine, Queries, Oracle Stored procedures, People Tools, People Code, Component Interface, Business Interlinks, PeopleSoft Application Designer, Oracle database and Oracle development tools. Knowledge of PeopleSoft various modules and business process of Campus Solution application as primary and other modules such as but not limited to HR, and Finance as secondary. Knowledge and understanding of web, mobile, and cloud technologies and development tools such as Java, HTML, XML, and VB a plus. Must be able to work independently as well as in a group. Good communications skills (both written and verbal), able to take initiative, and willing to work long hours when necessary. Preferred Qualifications Experience in understanding business processes for various modules of Campus Solution, Human Resources, Finance, and Academic units in an academic environment across various departments. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a variety of staff and management with varying technical skills and knowledge. Knowledge of third and fourth generation programming languages, PeopleSoft Application, People Tool, Oracle database, and Oracle development tool. Hands-on and informed on industry leading programming, web and, mobile technologies including but not limited to .NET, COBOL, JAVA, and XML. Development and support experience in the CSU CMS PeopleSoft environment. License/Certifications A Valid California Driver's License and/or a personal means of transportation required. This position requires use of a state vehicle to go to various on and off campus sites. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a fingerprint background check.
