Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a full-time Developmental Specialist 4 position in Carson City, Nevada with bi-weekly day trip travel to the Winnemucca, NV office. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS). Incumbents provide direct oversight and supervision of Early Childhood professionals within the Early Intervention Program serving children (birth to three years of age) with developmental delays or disabilities to ensure compliance with all federal mandates and deadlines as well as other relevant policies and procedures. Incumbents are required to complete timely and accurate reports, statistical data, and fiscal information; provide administrative leadership consistent with established protocols; participate and assist in establishing and implementing policies and procedures as required. Applicants who do not currently have an Endorsement License in Early Childhood Special Education will be required to obtain the endorsement at their own cost within the first 3 years of employment. Special Requirements Some positions must obtain an endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education issued by the Nevada Department of Education or a comparable certification issued by the Nevada Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C office within three years of appointment to this series or a comparable certification. (This license requirement applies only to those positions directly involved with children from birth to eight years of age with developmental delays.) Some positions must meet federal guidelines for Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional designation at the time of appointment. Some positions require work on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Some positions require a valid driver's license at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
