The Position The City of Riverside is accepting applications for the position of Principal Transportation Planner* to fill one (1) vacancy in the Traffic Engineering Division of the Public Works Department . The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months. The City of Riverside is relatively unique amongst big cities in that it does not employ any dedicated transportation planners. The addition Principal Transportation Planner, coinciding with the update to the City’s General Plan Update, will provide dedicated oversight to all elements of the City’s transportation planning, allow the City to expedite the transportation CEQA & development review process, and improve the Department’s ability to pursue grant funding. A Master's degree may substitute for one year of the required experience. Description Advanced and highly responsible position performing and supervising complex projects and long-range planning in a fast-growing County that prides itself on innovative planning practices. Description Advanced and highly responsible position performing and supervising complex projects and long-range planning in a fast-growing County that prides itself on innovative planning practices. The Position The City of Riverside’s Community and Economic Development Department is accepting applications for a limited term Senior Planner to support the Planning Division. Minimum Qualifications License Required: Possession of a valid California motor vehicle operator's license. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator's license will be accepted during the application process. Education: Possession of a high school diploma, G.E.D. equivalency, or a high school proficiency certificate. Experience: One (1) year of full-time, or its equivalent, clerical experience which included the use of basic computer software programs and either reception or customer service duties.
