Our foundational curriculum for engineering students includes emphasizing a systems-thinking approach, skillfully applying computational methods and data analysis, seeking opportunities for applied design work to support learning, and valuing engineering work that is done in service to society. Cal Poly Humboldt emphasizes hands-on, place-based learning. Engineering students engage in frequent labs, field trips, and team-based projects, while enjoying a cooperative learning environment in classes that range from 12-70 students.
