Employee PERS Contribution Safety employees hired prior to March 19, 2012 and hired into the Two Tier of 3% @ 55 retirement plan shall contribute 9% towards their PERS member contributions. Safety employees hired in the Third Tier of 2.7% @ 57retirement plan shall currently contribute 13% or 50% of the total normal cost rate, whichever is greater, towards their PERS member contributions.
