The shelter is open Mondays 10;00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The shelter takes in stray, injured, sick, vicious and biting animals from the public and field services. During the animals stay at the shelter, staff, provides humane care, exercise, and assessments in attempts to find permanent placement for adoptable animals. In 2023, staff provided assistance to 1,526 animals. The shelter also has veterinarian oversight to ensure the animal's medical needs are met and all animal licensing for rabies control is processed through the shelter.
