 The Public Works Department is offering an opportunity to work alongside a group comprised of dedicated, cohesive and team-oriented professionals! The Utility Worker II position is critical to the utility system operations of the City of Healdsburg.

 The City of Healdsburg offers a comprehensive benefit package including CalPERS retirement, medical, vision, dental and life insurance. Utility Workers are eligible to earn a salary range of $5,411.13 - $6,577.26 per month.

Job Description

Utility Worker II Position Overview

 

Essential Duties:

  • Demonstrate superior and seamless customer service, integrity and commitment to innovation, efficiency and fiscally responsible activity
  • Enter electronic data on various computer applications used in the course of the work
  • Perform the installation, troubleshooting, repair and replacement of underground water and recycled water mains, service laterals, pumping stations and appurtenances, using basic and specialized plumbing tools and equipment
  • Perform the installation, troubleshooting, repair and replacement of underground wastewater mains, service laterals, lift stations and appurtenances, using basic and specialized plumbing tools and equipment
  • Inspect wastewater systems for inflow and infiltration, construction flaws and structural defects using CCTV video inspection software and robotic equipment. (Must maintain NASSCO certification)
  • Maintain catch basins, drainage and streams during rain events
  • Work for long periods of time in confined space environments using specialized equipment
  • Perform USA mark and locate of City owned utilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain City infrastructure using heavy equipment and specialized machinery

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma supplemented by specialized training in the field as it relates; AND
  2. Three (3) years of experience preforming maintenance, repair and/or construction of underground utilities and streets infrastructure; AND
  3. California Class A Driver’s License with tanker endorsement
  4. Water Distribution Grade 2 certificate issued by the State Water Resources Control Board
