Assess water treatment and distribution system and sewer lift station emergency situations and ensure resources and equipment are available to meet potential emergencies. Identify and respond to sensitive community and organizational issues, concerns, and needs. Prepare and administer budgets. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. Assesses the reliability of the treatment and distribution system including treatment plant and process. Represent Long Beach Utilities Department to public agencies, regulatory bodies, special interest groups, other external organizations and members of the public. Meet schedules and timelines. Work independently with little direction. Plan, prioritize, and organize work. Prepare comprehensive narrative and statistical reports. Prepare and maintain a variety of records and files related to assigned activities. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Read and understand standard drawings, blueprints, and maps. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Operate a computer and assigned software.
