Full-time position available with KC Water Smart Sewer Division located at 4800 E. 63rd Street.
Salary Range: $18.24-$29.44/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Planning tasks and reporting progress to supervisor, educating others regarding plant identification, care techniques, etc.; preparing and maintaining detailed maintenance documentation; using computer software to track maintenance work and inspections; communicating effectively; inspecting and maintaining landscapes such as rain gardens, bio retention basins, and slopes; working with contractors and other crews to ensure work is completed; applying herbicides and/or pesticides; operating landscaping equipment such as mowers, weed trimmers, sprayers, etc. Must be able to perform physically demanding, repetitive job tasks involving frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and shoveling in all kinds of weather throughout Kansas City, Missouri and provide positive customer service.
REQUIRES an Accredited Bachelor's degree in turf management and associated landscaping and 1 year of related experience; OR Accredited Associate's degree in turf management and associated landscaping and 3 years of related experience; OR high school graduation and 5 years related experience, 2 years of which must be at the Labor Leader level. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City. Preference given to applicants with 3 years experience in landscape management, forestry, horticulture, or a related field. Native vegetation maintenance experience and demonstration of plant species identification skills is highly preferred.
