The only of its kind in our County, this program offers children early care, education and therapeutic services through a partnership between Napa County Health and Human Services and Child Start Inc. The Mental Health Counselor would work on the therapeutic team with another Mental Health Counselor and office assistant-parent liaison. The role would be to assess and monitor enrolled children’s social-emotional and mental health status, determine appropriate therapeutic modalities, interventions and strategies to optimize social-emotional and mental health functioning. In addition, they would train and mentor parents and staff in using appropriate therapeutic interventions and strategies with the children. The Mental Health Counselor is expected to work individually with TCCC children and parents and in a multidisciplinary approach with children, parents and teachers as primary caregivers in the classroom. This MH clinician performs consultation and coordination reviews with client while utilizing the level of care reports, health record and clinical team information to determine appropriate service linkage needs. Positions in this class may as directed provide lead supervision over lower-level Communications Technicians and Communications Installers, and will perform the most difficult installation, maintenance, and repair of the telephone network. The position will maintain and install telecommunications, electronics, and network equipment to integrate all VoIP, PBX, audio, security, automation, and low voltage electronics as needed countywide. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Working Conditions: Employees are subject to On-Call duties, 24-hour call-back, and may be asked to work during unusual hours, inclement weather and other adverse circumstances. Minimum Requirements REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience, within the last six (6) years, installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications, electronics, PBX's, VoIP, audio, automation, copper infrastructures, fiber optics and low voltage electronics. -AND- REQUIRED EDUCATION: Fifteen (15) semester (23 quarter) units of completed post-high school technical coursework in electronics or communication technology OR specialized technology courses or certificate programs with 450 hours of classroom instruction. A list of related coursework must be submitted with the application. Substitution: An additional one (1) year of experience may be substituted for the education requirement. Desired Qualifications Education in electronics or communication technology, along with certification in Cisco or Nortel, is highly desirable. Working experience in Telephony and Data Infrastructures, Cisco VoIP, Networking, Nortel/Avaya PBX and Call Pilot. Strong leadership, problem solving and analytic skills are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills, a team player with the ability to achieve goals through influence, collaboration, and cooperation.
