Under direction of the Recreation Coordinator or Supervisor, the Recreation Leader is responsible for assisting in organizing and leading activities for children and adults in the City's recreation programs, or when assigned to facilities monitoring, providing facilities oversight and set-up during scheduled activities. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This is the entry-level position in the Recreation Leader series and candidates may have limited direct work experience. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives general supervision from the Senior Recreation Leader, Recreation Coordinator, and/or Recreation Supervisor as assigned.

Experience & Education and License/Certificate
A combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience :One year of experience in customer service, community service, childcare, babysitting, working with seniors, coaching or playing a sport, and/or volunteer work in a related field or equivalent.
Age :Must be 16 years of age as of June 1, 2019.
License :Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
Certificate :CPR and First Aid certificates must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.Please Note:
