This position is eligible for a 9/80 work schedule. Onsite employee-paid Montessori childcare center available. County Wellness Program activities offered onsite. Free employee parking is provided. Public transit/transportation services are also convenient.

Essential Job Functions
  • Collaborates with colleagues to develop study designs and conduct studies, evaluations and assessments consistent with the CMS research agenda and other organizational goals/objectives.
  • Applies various mathematical and statistical analysis techniques, and interprets data from research and other activities, to:
    • Yield results/findings that will improve understanding of CMS services and practices;
    • Assess behavioral, social or human impact on special needs pediatric health care delivery; and
    • Offer options/alternatives for program design, implementation and evaluation.
  • Supports Zika-related and birth defects surveillance, monitoring, registry, referral, intervention, evaluation and performance measurement activities.
  • Develops methodology that guides and enables implementation of social, behavioral, care coordination/case management, and service utilization research activities at CMS.
  • Works with staff and other stakeholders from CMS, DPH, LA County and other agencies to develop and execute annual, long-term and strategic CMS research goals.
  • Designs and assists in the development of data collection strategies, tools and practices; database and data management systems, structures and platforms; and data analysis protocols and procedures.
  • Administers and supervises business, administrative and human resource responsibilities necessary to further the CMS research agenda and plan.
  • Disseminates and reports CMS research results and findings in various media and formats to key stakeholders.
  • Consults with CMS staff, sections and/or other organizational partners/stakeholders on active and proposed behavioral, social and/or health service research initiatives and activities.

Must be a permanent County of Los Angeles employee who currently holds the payroll title of Research Analyst III.

  • Significant experience planning, developing, and maintaining research, data and related systems databases and systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong data, mathematical and statistical measurement, collection, and analysis experience.
  • Strong planning, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to plan, manage and implement multiple priority projects, studies and research activities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work proactively and with minimal supervision.
  • Affinity for collaborative, team-oriented work.
  • Proficiency in the use of statistical software (e.g., SAS).
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Significant experience planning, developing, and maintaining research, data and related systems databases and systems.
