OVERVIEW KITSAP COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (DCD) Kitsap County DCD seeks a PLANNING SUPERVISOR to join our team of professionals. Under the direction of the assigned Planning Division Manager, the Planning Supervisor will supervise current planning staff while ensuring quality control of land use and environmental decisions and recommendations and provide timely permit review services and guidance for development proposals on lands in unincorporated Kitsap County. Position Information Plant Operator Trainee The position is designed to provide training and experience required to obtain higher levels of certifications as required by State guidelines. Trainees work under close and continuous direction of a licensed experienced operator. They are assigned the more routine, simple, and operational tasks and are expected to progressively accumulate working knowledge of the principles and practices utilized in the operation, maintenance and repair of a major wastewater treatment plant. Plant Operator I, II, III, IV Employees in the Plant Operator classification is responsible for operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants and pump stations. They monitor and make adjustments to the wastewater treatment process control, operates various equipment for the liquid and solid processes, and perform routine laboratory tests and analysis. Their responsibilities also include maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of wastewater treatment process equipment. The Sewer Utility Division The Sewer Utility Division operates four wastewater treatment plants and maintains 58 pump stations, 148 miles of gravity pipe, 37 miles of force mains and 3,775 manholes in Kitsap County. Recycled water services are planned for future demand. This on-call position is responsible for assisting in the orderly and expeditious dispatch of court business by maintaining custody of and coordinating the movement of individual trial jury pools. This position will have substantial contact with all parties in the Criminal Justice system, including defendants, judges, lawyers, corrections staff and the public. T he Superior Court is the court of general jurisdiction in Kitsap County, having original and appellate jurisdiction as authorized by the Washington State Constitution and the laws of the State of Washington. The Superior Court is created to resolve criminal felony cases, civil cases, juvenile offender and dependency cases, family law cases including paternity matters and adoptions, private and guardianship matters, domestic violence cases, mental health cases, and appeals from the District and Municipal Courts in Kitsap County. OVERVIEW We are looking for Bailiffs to assist with jury trials. This on-call position is responsible for assisting in the conduct of court business and coordinating the movement of individual jurors. This position will have substantial contact with all parties in the Criminal Justice system, including defendants, judges, lawyers, corrections staff and the public. The Kitsap County District Court is a court of limited jurisdiction, and has jurisdiction over misdemeanors and gross misdemeanor crimes. These crimes carry a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail and/or a $5,000 fine. The most common criminal charges include criminal traffic charges such as Driving Under the Influence (DUI), and Driving with a Suspended License. Other misdemeanor charges of Assault, Theft, and Misdemeanor Domestic Violence charges are filed in District Court. Most Traffic offenses (infractions) such as speeding, vehicle registration (tabs) charges and equipment violations are also heard in District Court. This is a temporary, on-call position classification used by Kitsap County to assist with court business.
