Job Description and Duties MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL) - NORTH COAST REDWOODS DISTRICT / REDWOOD COAST SECTOR Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. The Maintenance Aide reporting location is at 127011 Newton B. Drury Parkway, Orick, CA 95555, Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. This position will work under the direction of the Park Maintenance Supervisor for Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. Maintenance Aides perform routine housekeeping and facility maintenance duties to keep the area and facilities, as assigned, in good repair. Maintenance Aides demonstrate the ability to follow directions; compute simple mathematical calculations; learn work procedures, park rules, and regulations; perform varied manual tasks; meet the public successfully; and take corrective action. Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds and have ability to work cooperatively and effectively with co-workers. Experience in janitorial or housekeeping tasks is desired but not required. Position may assist Park Maintenance Workers in performing a variety of skilled maintenance projects. This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license.
