The City of Santa Rosa is located just 55 miles north of San Francisco and 30 miles east of the Pacific Ocean with a population of over 176,000 and is the 26th largest city in the state. Santa Rosa is the seat of Sonoma County and the center of trade, government, commerce and medical facilities for the North Bay. Santa Rosa was incorporated on March 16, 1868. It is a charter city and operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The City Council is comprised of seven members representing districts. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports directly to the City Manager and leads the Finance Department consisting of 60.6 full-time equivalent positions with a budget of $ 14.1 million (including parking, 7.8 is general fund). The CFO is responsible for planning, organizing and reviewing the finance related functions of the City and advising the City Manager and City Council on financial related issues. The ideal candidate is an experienced finance professional with a team-oriented approach and mentoring management style with highly developed personnel management skills. This strategic leader will have experience providing responsive support, accurate information and advice to policy makers in challenging and uncertain financial situations.
