The PositionThe Contra Costa County Assessor's Office is recruiting to fill two (2) full-time Associate Appraiser positions. The class of Associate Appraiser represents the senior or advanced level in the professional appraisal series. Incumbents in this class may provide lead direction to subordinate appraisers and will receive general work direction from a Supervising Appraiser.

Minimum QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:License Required: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Out of State valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License will be accepted during the application process.
Certificate Required: Possession of a valid Appraiser's Certificate issued by the California State Board of Equalization.
Experience: Three (3) years of full time or its equivalent professional experience in appraising real property in a California County Assessors Office, or in a state or federal agency in California responsible for appraising property or Three (3) years of full-time or its equivalent experience in the class of Junior Appraiser or higher in Contra Costa County.
PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must upload a copy of valid Appraiser's Certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization to their application.Desirable Qualifications:- Extensive knowledge of property tax laws

Selection Process1. Application Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application, applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.
2. Online Interview Assessment: Candidates that possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online Interview Assessment. The assessment is designed to measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the Associate Appraiser position. Candidates must achieve an average overall passing score of 70% or higher. Assessed competencies may include, but are not limited to: Attention to Detail, Establishing Credibility, Professional Integrity & Ethics, Self-Management, Professional & Technical Expertise, Analyzing & Interpreting Data, Adaptability, and Oral Communication.
