    Multiple vacancies available in Santa Maria. *This posting is for the 2025-2026 school year.* California Speech-Language Pathology or Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential in Language, Speech, & Hearing, or master’s degree in communicative disorders (or equivalent), plus a valid California Speech-Language Pathologist License. Per Education Code 44831, licensure issued by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board and a master’s degree in communicative disorders (or equivalent) may qualify in lieu of a credential. Experience and/or training appropriate to fulfill requirements of the position.

An additional 4% salary increase negotiated effective July 1, 2025 and calculated into posting salary. Student Loan Forgiveness: The Santa Barbara County Education Office is currently an eligible employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.     SBCEO is one of 58 county offices in California. County offices support local school districts by providing services that can be delivered more efficiently and economically at the county level. These include implementing new standards, staff development and training programs; fiscal support for districts including payroll; designing business and personnel systems; and performing many other services to meet the changing needs of local school districts. County offices of education also provide a wide range of instructional programs, including special education, early childhood education, career and technical education, programs for youth at risk, and instruction in juvenile detention facilities.   

    The Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO) is an intermediate agency between the California State Department of Education and the 20 school districts that are located within the county's boundaries. Our mission is to provide service and leadership for students, educators, school districts, and finance.  

    SBCEO student services include Special Education Programs, Child Development and Early Education Programs, Children's Creative Project, Transitional Youth Services, Juvenile Court and Community Schools, Migrant Education, Nurses and Psychologists, and Regional Occupational Program and Career Technical Education.  

    Teacher and administrator services include Credential Services, Educational Technology Services, Peer Assistance and Review Program, Professional Development and technical assistance, Teacher Induction Program, teacher support and recognition programs, classified employee recognition programs, and technology training.  

    SBCEO special programs include Author-Go-Round, Battle of the Books, Breakfast with the Authors, CATCH, Children and Family Resource Services, Computers for Families, County Spelling Bee, I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival, Industry-Education Councils, Mock Trial, Partners In Education volunteer coordination program, Public Health/School Nurse Partnership, Retirement counseling for STRS members, Showcase of Innovative Learning, Tobacco Use Prevention Education, THRIVE Guadalupe, and Welcome Every Baby.
