    Hiring Range Negotiable Between: $227,969 - $300,000 DOE/DOQ

    Current Salary Range for Future Advancement: $227,969 - $339,309

    The Port of San Diego (Port) is seeking a seasoned, collaborative, and emotionally intelligent leader to serve as its next Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)—a vital member of the executive leadership team that assists in shaping the Port’s strategic vision and drives organizational excellence and service delivery. The CAO reports directly to the President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and working closely with the Port’s Commissioners (appointed by city council respective cities). The CAO oversees a broad portfolio that includes Commissioner Services, District Clerk, Human Resources, Information Technology, Information Security, and the CEO’s and Vice Presidents executive assistants and other support staff. The CAO manages the Executive Leadership Group office budget of approximately $5 million while supervising approximately 12 direct and up to 80 indirect staff. In this role, the CAO leads modernization across internal service departments, supports executive coordination, advances workforce innovation, and champions the Port’s overall culture of inclusion and belonging.
