    The Position

    Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.

    Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.

    This announcement will be used to fill an IT Professional 2, within the Department of Motor Vehicles, located in Carson City. This position will work with several Development Teams-working in Salesforce, MuleSoft, & Amazon Web Services, to debug code level defects providing quality assurance, while also identifying defects that could affect implementation, and release management of the system. Duties include collaboration with development, Quality Assurance(QA) testers, product management, and other stakeholders to execute QA test plans that align with business objectives and critical milestones; define and document QA test plans and scripts, scenario-based testing, negative testing, targeted and full regression testing. Other duties include providing regular status updates; identifying and documenting potential risks and challenges associated with testing; proactively addressing and resolving issues that may impact release schedules; supporting build and deployment processes to ensure consistency and reliability; participating in the implementation and enhancement of automated build and deployment pipelines; maintaining quality gates to prevent the release of defective software; keeping release documentation up to date, including release notes, installation guides, and versioning information, ensuring it is clear and accessible to relevant stakeholders; managing communications related to deployments and downtimes that affect regular business operations; and preparing weekly status reports. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements Some positions require specialized certification that will be identified at the time of recruitment. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
