Job Summary Performs professional engineering and administrative work supervising the Engineering Design Section. An employee in this position supervises engineering professionals for development review and in-house design projects. Considerable independent judgment and initiative is exercised in carrying out the daily operations of the Section. Work involves some field travel and inspection. Work is performed under the direction of the Deputy Public Works Director - City Engineer and is reviewed through conferences, periodic written reports, and observation of results achieved. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Two (2) years of local government experience preferred. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida required. Valid Florida Driver’s License required. Registration as a Certified Floodplain Manager required within six (6) months of employment.

- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;

- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
