    The Position

    Mail Service staff process incoming and outgoing mail to ensure distribution to proper destination according to zip code, department, agency or other location.

    This recruitment is for a position with the Department of Administration, Mail Services Division and is located in our Carson City office. This position assists the supervisor in day-to-day incoming and outgoing mail processing and delivery in accordance with USPS Regulations, established policies, and procedures, and within scope of responsibility. The incumbent will assist the supervisor to ensure that all written policies and procedures are followed and that all assigned duties are performed accurately, thoroughly and completed in a timely manner. The Mail Services Technician provides training for employees and ensure technical tasks are clearly understood.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience in sorting, bundling and delivering mail, and operating mail processing equipment; OR one year of experience as a Mail Service Clerk II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
