    Administrator I

    RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

    Portfolio Management: Leads and implements fundraising strategies for a portfolio of 50-75 corporate and foundation prospects with the capacity to contribute $5,000 or more annually. Manages the full lifecycle of donor engagement, including identifying new prospective donors, creating customized and strategic cultivation plans, preparing comprehensive proposals (oral and written), and fostering long-term, effective relationship with a diverse group of funders. Schedule both online and in-person visits, along with other strategic activities to deepen relationships and advance them toward a major gift solicitation.

    Strategic Support & Collaboration: Develops strategic partnerships with corporate and private foundations to support CSUCI’s key initiatives. Provides leadership and philanthropic coordination to academic leaders, faculty, and staff, aligning funding opportunities with the philanthropic priorities of each corporation and foundation. Maintains consistent communication with key university stakeholders engaged in the major gift solicitation strategy. Collaborates with the office of Research and Sponsored Programs on any donation that has specific grant management and reporting requirements. Coordinates site visits and campus tours for corporate and private foundation representatives. Prepares and provides appropriate briefing materials to CSUCI leadership prior to a donor meeting or campus visit. Partners with donor relations and stewardship to ensure required reporting expectations and deadlines are met.

    Grant Submission & Proposal Tracking: Writes and edits compelling proposals to corporate and foundation donors that are personalized to the organization’s mission and agenda, while aligning with the university’s needs. Works collaboratively with development writers and special consultants as needed. Prepares and submits online grant applications, ensuring all required documentation is gathered, and tracks submission deadlines for each organization. Inputs all actions and opportunities in customer relationship management software (Raiser’s Edge).

    Professional Development: In collaboration with the Associate Vice President for University Development, establishes, monitors, and achieves performance goals and metrics. Engages in continuous training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills as needed. Ensures that Corporate and Foundation Giving is recognized as a service-oriented unit within University Development, consistently delivering high-quality results. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

    REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or commensurate qualifying experience.

    Experience: At least three years of experience in philanthropy or development within higher education or nonprofit organizations.

    Other Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, and collaborate effectively to create and maintain a positive team environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships. Proficiency in working with various software applications and database management systems.

    A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.

    The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.

    Hiring Range: $6,667 - $7,084 per month
