  • Job Requirements

    The County seeks a California Registered Environmental Health Specialist experienced in consumer protection, wastewater treatment, hazardous waste, or solid waste. The ideal candidate will think critically, provide constructive solutions, and manage teams effectively. Requires four years of environmental health regulation/enforcement experience (including two years in administrative/supervisory roles) and a Bachelor's degree in public health, environmental health, public administration, or related field. Must have a valid California driver's license and Environmental Health Specialist certificate.

    The annual salary range is $147,596.80 - $179,067.20 with 3.5% COLA increase scheduled for 7/1/2025 and 7/1/2026. The County’s benefit plan includes enrollment in the CalPERS defined benefit retirement plan, generous contributions to health insurance, $1,600/month deferred compensation matching, housing down payment assistance program, relocation reimbursement, post-retirement medical benefits, and a generous leave program.
