POSITION OVERVIEW This position manages production of live music and special performances at AUS . Tasks include quality control of audio signals, ensuring high quality sound and working with complex audio technology systems across 8 distinct performance venues and various other places around the AUS campus.
This position also sets-up, maintains, and troubleshoots back-line instruments and equipment used by musicians during live performances. This position requires close work with bands, artists, concessionaires, airport vendors and other members of Aviation teams.
ASSESSMENT A skills assessment will be required for this position.
DRIVER’S REQUIREMENT This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and the individual will be required to drive a City vehicle. Position will also be required to drive on the AOA .
This position requires a Valid Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the
City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation ( DRE ) requisite . To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months. Job Offer is contingent on having a driving record that meets the City’s Driver Record Evaluation Standards.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Evaluates technical quality of audio systems. Mitigates sound level issues with outdoor music venues. Evaluates and recommends layouts, flowcharts, and/or schematics of audio equipment. Integrates audio programming with live web casting and audio on demand equipment and needs. Provides expert advice to the permitting office. Creates, revises, and implements Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP ) related to sound and sound production equipment for use by City staff. Regulates sound inputs and feeds and/or coordinates audio feeds with live broadcasts and recordings. Determines audio production equipment needs and makes recommendation for purchases.
