    What you will typically be responsible for:
    • Develop and Facilitate Training Programs: Design and deliver customized training courses for front-line staff, supervisors, and managers, focusing on leadership development, team building, and other key organizational needs.
    • Provide Leadership Coaching: Offer one-on-one coaching to managers to enhance their leadership skills, support their professional growth, and help them effectively lead their teams.
    • Conduct Strategic Planning: Collaborate with county departments to engage in strategic planning processes, identifying opportunities for business process improvement and organizational development.
    • Assess and Improve Team Culture: Perform team culture assessments to identify strengths and areas for improvement and facilitate initiatives to enhance team dynamics and foster a positive work environment.
    • Engage in Public Speaking: Serve as a guest speaker at team retreats and other county-wide events, delivering engaging and inspiring presentations on topics relevant to professional and organizational development.
    • Promote DEIB Initiatives: Lead efforts to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the organization, developing programs and initiatives that support a diverse and inclusive workplace.
    • Consult with Departments: Act as an internal consultant to various county departments, providing expertise and guidance on organizational development, leadership, and team building.

    The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six months.

    Remote Work Eligibility: This position is eligible to work remotely no more than 50% of each workweek. However, in the short term, the incumbent is expected to be in the office daily for the first 4 weeks. Future remote work arrangements may be discussed after hire based on dynamic business needs. Additionally, the incumbent must live within 200 miles of Martinez, California. These policies are non-negotiable.

    Minimum Qualifications

    License Required: Possess and maintain a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License or the ability to provide suitable transportation that is approved by the appointing authority. Out of state Motor Vehicle Operator's license will be accepted during the application process.

    Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

    Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible full-time human resources experience performing organizational development work.

    AND

    Education: Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from a college or university with a major in human resources management, business, industrial psychology, public administration or closely related field.

    Desirable Qualifications:
    • Experience with DEIB Programs: Proven experience designing and implementing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging programs.
    • Certification in Training and Development: Such as APTD, CPTD
    • Certification in Coaching: Such as ACC, PCC, MCC

    Selection Process

    Application Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application, applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process. Training and Experience Evaluation: Consists of an evaluation of each candidate's relevant education, training and/or experience as presented on the application and supplemental questionnaire. (Weighted 100%)Final Selection Interviews: Hiring interviews will be conducted by a panel of leaders within the department. This may require a take-home assessment that consists of a hypothetical scenario and dataset that candidates will be asked to analyze and produce a brief presentation of findings and recommendations.

    Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an invitation to participate in the selection process.
