    Position Information

    Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting Human Resources operations? We are seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant I to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by handling a variety of administrative tasks, including:
    • Answering and directing calls with professionalism and efficiency.
    • Organizing and maintaining filing systems to ensure accurate record-keeping.
    • Supporting onboarding processes to welcome new team members.
    • Assisting with pre-employment activities.
    • Gathering and organizing information to support HR initiatives and projects.
    • And much more!

    Hours for this position are flexible within normal working hours; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, but may not work over a total of 900 hours per fiscal year.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience Guidelines -
    Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

    Education/Training:
    • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
    License or Certificate:
    • One year of clerical experience preferably involving extensive public contact.


    Application Process

    Applicants must submit the following: City of Brentwood Employment Application.Responses to the Supplemental Questions. Postmarks, faxes and incomplete applications will not be accepted. Your application must be filled out completely online. Resumes may also be submitted but it is not a substitute for a completed application.

    The examination process will consist of:
    • Application Review - Submitted applications will be assessed based on job-related qualifications, including desirable qualifications and the specific needs of the hiring department. Candidates may be screened to identify those who are best qualified to proceed in the examination process.
    • Written Exam - Applicants meeting the above requirements will be invited to take a written exam. The examination will cover elements of the knowledge and abilities identified in the job description. Tentatively scheduled to take place on May 1, 2025. Candidates selected to take the exam will be notified by April 25, 2025.
    • Eligible List - All applicants that pass the written exam will be placed on an eligible list which is good for at least 6 months and may be extended up to an additional 18 months. This eligible list will be used by the City of Brentwood to fill all current and future openings in this classification as long as the list is active.
