    The Position

    Under general supervision, Education and Information Officers research issues of concern to the agency and the relevant target population; develop, coordinate and/or present educational programs; review, revise and monitor courses of instruction to reflect current marketplace and applicable law; audit instructor presentations to ensure quality instruction is provided in accordance with program requirements; facilitate communication among the target population and State and federal agencies; develop media releases, newsletters and informational brochures. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

    The Office of the Ombudsman for Common-Interest Communities and Condominium Hotels within the Real Estate Division is seeking to fill an Education and Information Officer located in Las Vegas. This position involves managing and overseeing the education program for certified community managers. The responsibilities included for this position consist of researching, developing and preparing information materials including brochures, newsletters, and bulletins to be shared with practitioners, industry professionals, unit owners and stakeholders. The Officer will be required to review, revise and monitor educational courses required for licensure to ensure the courses are in compliance with statutory requirements and approve or disapprove courses of instruction and instructors. Additionally, this position will implement procedures for conducting audits of pre-licensing, continuing education courses and instructor presentations. Further, this position will conduct community outreach, analyze needs assessments, surveys and evaluations to identify the educational needs for specific associations, in addition to participating in community groups and professional organizations in the industry. The Education Officer is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate updating of the common-interest communities' section on the Division's website. This role also includes maintaining monthly statistical reports that are provided to the Common-Interest Communities Commission. This position will attend and participate in community forums with the Ombudsman to promote the office services and track relevant legislation providing feedback regarding all bill draft requests impacting the program. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.     In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an area of specialization relevant to the agency to which assigned and two years of professional experience which included responsibilities for researching, writing, instructing, and presenting informational and educational material; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Notes The ability to travel at least 25% of the time is required. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
