    Pay Range: $26.38 to $34.30/hour

    Pay Range: $54,879 to $71,343/annually

    A Senior Administrative Assistant position is available at the Fort Worth Public Library. This position will consist of networking and teamwork while acting as a liaison between departments, divisions, other agencies and vendors. A successful candidate has experience working in customer service and possesses good interpersonal skills. This position demands the ability to understand, adhere to, and implement departmental and divisional policies and procedures. The Sr. Administrative Assistant will be responsible for carrying out specific functions and will need to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing. Attention to detail, strong record-keeping abilities, and the capability to multi-task and prioritize are essential to meet deadlines successfully. This position will report to the Library Operations Center, located at 8628 Camp Bowie West Blvd, Fort Worth, TX. 76116.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
    • Three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative and fiscal management experience, including one (1) year in a supervisory or lead capacity.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • HRC/MRC Coordinator, including filing Worker’s Comp Claims and Major Medical documentation
    • Recruitment & Payroll Processing
    • Accounts Payable and Purchasing Software (PeopleSoft Financials, or similar ERP Financial suites (Lawson, JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP), creating requisitions, issuing purchase orders, paying invoices)
    • Contract Management
    • Credit Card Reconciliation
    • Travel Arrangements
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Experience handling confidential information with discretion

    The job responsibilities include:
    • Collaborate with management in recruitment, hiring, termination, and disciplinary actions; provide recommendations and conduct performance evaluations; ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
    • Payroll timesheet management, worker’s compensation, travel coordination and reimbursements.
    • Handle accounts payable, vendor invoice processing, manage requisitions, purchase orders, and partner with the Purchasing team to ensure contracts are established for necessary goods and services for operations.
    • Prepare reports, draft formal communications, and prioritize projects to align with daily operational needs.
    • High-volume customer service
    • Leverage strong writing skills to create, develop, interpret, and enforce departmental programs, policies, standards, and procedures.

    Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.

    Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    Medical Program

    Vacation

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
