    Contra Costa County is recruiting to fill one (1) Contracts Administrator vacancy in the Employment and Human Services Department. The eligible list from this recruitment may also be used for other vacancies countywide.

    What you will typically be responsible for:
    • Coordinating contract-related development and implementation activities and processes with staff and affiliated stakeholders
    • Reviewing work of subordinate staff to ensure contract content meets basic requirements and accuracy, and ensuring state or federal requirements are met
    • Monitoring and reviewing departmental Board Agenda Items for form, format, and content as required by the County Administrator’s Office
    • Supervising clerical staff in setting priorities, maintaining databases, and filing contract documents; and ensuring clerical desk guides are maintained
    • Determining when County Counsel's advice is necessary for special application beyond common boilerplate language, or for unusual service plan requirements
    • Reviewing contract language for content and clarity, and clarifying any vagaries or unclear language with program staff or contractor
    • Maintaining the Department’s repository of Board Agenda Items and overseeing the filing of contracts and contract files

    The employment list established by this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months.

    Minimum Qualifications

    License Required: Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.

    Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business or public administration, or a closely related field.

    Experience: Three years of full-time experience in a human services agency processing or preparing grant applications, State and Federal contracts and/or purchases of service contracts.

    Substitution for Education: Additional qualifying experience of the type noted above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years.

    Substitution for Experience: Possession of a Masters Degree from an accredited college with a major in business administration, public administration or closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

    Selection Process

A completed Supplemental Questionnaire is required at the time of applying.Online Virtual Interview : Candidates who possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online interview. In the oral interview, candidates must achieve an overall passing score of 70% or higher. The interview will measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the Contracts Administrator position. These may include Delivering Results, Attention to Detail, Professional Integrity & Ethics, and/or Teamwork ( Weighted 100%).


    The online interview will be administered remotely using a computer or tablet. You will need access to a reliable internet connection to participate in the online interview, as well as a computer or tablet with a camera.

    The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

    CONVICTION HISTORY

    After you receive a conditional job offer, you will be fingerprinted, and your fingerprints will be sent to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).     DISASTER SERVICE WORKER

    All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
