ATC Supervising Accountant/Auditors who perform advanced, complex cost accounting work or perform the most difficult and complex integrated financial, operational, compliance and/or fraud audits; reviews and performs extensive and complex accounting work involving the complete fiscal activities of a department; recommends audit priorities and schedules; confers with management on sensitive problems; analyzes and proposes procedures to increase efficiency .

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
Background: Candidates selected for this position must pass a background investigation and medical examination including drug screening; candidates selected for law enforcement departments, public safety positions, or positions where legally required, must pass a more stringent background check.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

Minimum Requirements CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION Must possess a bachelor's degree in
accounting, finance, business administration, economics OR a bachelor's degree in another field which
must include 30 semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in
accounting . (Transcripts with qualifying coursework is required if degree is in another field.)
EXPERIENCE Must possess two (2) years of professional-level accounting or auditing experience, of which one (1) year must be equivalent to a
Senior Accountant/Auditor with San Bernardino County
AND one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience over professional-level accounting staff.
IMPORTANT NOTES: EXPERIENCE Professional-level experience is defined as occupations that require specialized knowledge usually acquired through principal work experience. Clerical/bookkeeping experience is not considered qualifying.
EDUCATION Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, an active CPA license, and/or extensive governmental accounting experience.
