Major/Essential Functions- Provides individual, family, and group counseling services, primarily through telehealth, to patients to address various mental health and wellness-related issues.
- Conducts assessments and helps patients to problem-solve areas of need.
- Helps to develop coping strategies and action-based goals and objectives for patients.
- May specialize in a particular area of counseling. Assesses the mental and behavioral health status and needs of referred patients (in-person and/or virtually).
- Identifies patients with urgent mental health conditions(e.g., suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, etc.) and makes appropriate referrals as needed.
- Provides brief intervention to youth and families, including skill-based interventions (e.g., emotion regulation skills, behavioral parenting skills, distress tolerance skills, etc.). communication with parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s).
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date session documentation, assessments, interventions, and recommendations.
- Facilitates discussions to help patients and families become more compliant with their treatment.
- Provides individual, family, and group counseling services to patients to address various mental health and wellness-related issues.
- Conducts assessments and develops treatment plans to address patient needs.
- Assist with the implementation of evidence-based models of care.
- Participates in weekly case staff meetings.
- Ensure counseling codes of ethics are enforced in all aspects of counseling services.
- Develops individualized treatment plan, in accordance with established standards, consistent with assessment and in conjunction with patients and family, to include goals, intervention, necessary support, or referral service.
- Documents patient discharge plans.
- Maintains communication with Mental Health Clinical Supervisor, as well as patient family members or legal guardians.
- Updates productivity reports.
Required QualificationsEducation: Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field.
Experience: Three (3) years of related experience required.
Current licensure in the State of Texas in one of the following:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate (LPC - A)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) must be working towards LCSW
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Associate (LMFT-A)
Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA)
