    Position Overview:
    The Financial Services Department is seeking a Business Process Specialist to join the Strategy, Training, Equity, and Process Consulting Services ( STEPS ) team. The position will assist with consulting services for the Financial Services Department such as:

    • Collaborating with stakeholders to achieve a shared strategic objective,
    • Supporting process documentation and improvement projects,
    • Assisting in the development of finance process and systems training content, and
    • Developing tools and information to support City financial services.


    The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a team environment. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of effective written and oral communication and a passion for fostering a culture of learning and improvement within an organization.

    Our staff supports a wide variety of financial processes, including preparing the annual budget and annual fiscal report, procurement processes, franchise agreements, real estate transactions, and overseeing the City’s investment portfolio and debt management.

    Travel:

    Pay Range
    $29.23 - $36.54

    Hours
    Monday to Friday;
    8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    Telework may be available after initial training period.
    On-site training may be necessary for the first several weeks.

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

    1. Assists in planning, executing and closing projects in a variety of operational and/or administrative situations related to specific assignments/areas.

    2. Develops and maintains databases to support data analysis and research findings for business projects.

    3. Assists in preparation of recommendations for implementation of new or revised policies, procedures, and/or process changes/improvements.

    4. Write reports that summarize findings, data collection techniques, implementation options, etc.

    5. Establishes project schedules using project planning software/tools, updates and maintains project status reports. Communicate project/process status.

    6. Conduct research, analyze trends, determine accuracy and relevancy of data/information, and use sounds judgment to evaluate alternatives.

    7. Facilitates and documents meetings, action items, and processes using flowcharting methodologies.

    8. Maintains positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees and other stakeholders to gain their cooperation and support.

    City Government
