The JobArrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for
Phlebotomists who collect blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients according to established standards and practices. Phlebotomists are responsible for ensuring the quality of the blood specimens taken, delivering specimens for processing and using hospital computer programs to input and retrieve laboratory order information.

This recruitment may be used to fill Extra Help and Per Diem positions as needed. Hours may vary for Extra Help and Per Diem positions depending on the needs of the department. Full-time hours are not guaranteed. Extra help and Per Diem positions are paid at a higher salary and are in the Unclassified Service which serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. These positions participate in the County's Part-time Seasonal Temporary (PST) Deferred Compensation Plan and do not earn any other benefits. Candidates selected for Extra-Help or Per Diem positions are not precluded from being considered for full-time positions and may remain on the list for full-time employment.

TRADITIONAL BENEFITS OPTION MODIFIED BENEFITS OPTION CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-employment Process: Incumbents must pass a background investigation, which includes verification of employment history and education, in addition to, a physical exam and TB test.
Work Schedule: Incumbents must be available to work 12-hour shifts, variable shifts, weekends, and holidays. Indicate your availability on the supplemental application.

Minimum Requirements Experience: Six (6) months of full-time equivalent venipuncture experience in a medical environment.
AND Certification: Must possess and maintain a current
State of California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1 or CPT-2) license with the Department of Public Health.
Desired QualificationsThe department seeks candidates who are able to adapt to changes in assignments/schedules and priorities in a positive manner.
Candidates must possess excellent communication skills while working with patients and explaining the phlebotomy process.
