Nurse Educator-Specialty Care. This position will be responsible for devising and implementing staff development, continuing education, orientation and mandatory in-service programs in the specialty area of
Behavioral Health. Job duties will include but not limited to: - Coordinating and presenting mandatory in-service and competency programs.
- Developing and implementing training in the use of new products and equipment.
- Maintaining pertinent continuing education, records and reports for licensing agencies and department records.
- Determining educational needs and plans and implements programs to meet these needs.
- Training staff in the use of new and updated procedures and techniques.
- Developing the necessary training and preparing instructional materials.
- Writing and updating policies and procedures.

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

Availability: Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule as education and training may be provided to hospital staff on all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Certifications: Nurse Educators may be required to obtain additional certifications depending on the needs of the department and assignments.

Minimum RequirementsLicense: Must possess and maintain a current license as a Registered Nurse with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
Certifications: Must possess and maintain current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Management of Assaultive Behavior certification.
Experience: Three (3) years (within the past five (5) years) of full-time experience as a Registered Nurse in which one (1) year
must be in Behavioral Health.
Substitution: A Master's Degree in Nursing may substitute for one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse. There is no substitution for the one (1) year experience in Behavioral Health.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a closely related, over five (5) years of experience teaching in an acute care setting with experience putting together curriculums for adult learners, one (1) year of experience in an acute adolescent behavioral health setting, and one (1) year of experience working with EPIC. This candidate will have exceptional leadership qualities, excellent communication abilities, and have in-depth, comprehensive knowledge in their given field.
