The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Marketing and Communications Assistant in the Department of Communications. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, performs various marketing and communications related tasks in support of one or more functional areas of the Department of Communications; provides administrative and customer service assistance to City employees and the public; and performs related duties as assigned.
Position Overview: - Provide support to the Department of Communications by assisting internal staff to manage brand and marketing communications initiatives.
- Develop email campaigns and digital advertisements
- Assist with staffing at various Citywide programs and events.
- Input creative briefs for marketing communications campaigns.
- Update website content and User Experience/User Interface.
- Perform a variety of support duties including market and client research, organizing, and managing marketing collateral, and other related tasks.
- Create reports on marketing performance and public relations placements.
- Take accurate and thorough notes during meetings; prepares agendas and recaps.
- Maintain schedules for marketing initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications- Graduation from high school or the equivalent
- Six (6) months experience in public relations, social media, marketing, journalism, communications,or a closely related field
- Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
- Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license as defined by NRS 483
