    POSITION OVERVIEW :
    This recruitment exercise is to fill one (1) Administrative Senior position.

    The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Watershed Protection Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to serving as liaison between divisions (and departments as needed), providing front desk support, manning hot-lines, customer service, purchasing office supplies, rendering payments for department requirements, preparing documents, coordinating meetings, events, travel and training. Additionally, employee will provide coordination for the Notice of Violation ( NOV ) letters and may assist with Barton Springs Zone Operating Permit renewals.

    Other duties may be assigned according to operational needs.

    Pay Range
    $22.22 - $24.77

    Hours
    8 :00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    Monday - Friday with the ability for a 60% telework schedule per week after initial training period. Exceptions may apply subject to the business needs of the department.

    May require working outside of normal business hours, including emergency events, evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by business needs.

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite and cloud-based storage options; ability to prepare memos, letters, and other correspondences using computer, spreadsheets, databases or presentation software.
    • Ability to exercise discretion in confidential matters.
    • Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
    • Skill in oral and written communications, including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with city employees and the public.
    • Experience scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars.
    • Ability to travel to more than one work location

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
    Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.


    Provides administrative support on projects by researching and compiling data. Distributes and reconciles petty cash requests. Monitors and tracks interdepartmental documents. Creates, maintains and archives documents. Schedules and coordinates meetings and appointments. Greets visitors, handles their inquiries and directs them to the appropriate person according to their needs. Answers multi-line phones, transfers calls and takes messages. Opens, sorts and distributes incoming mail. Creates and maintains files, documents, records and reports. Orders and receives office supplies, ensures invoices match deliveries, notifies appropriate personnel of discrepancies. Prepares memos, letters and other documents.

    City Government
