Job Description
The City of Irvine seeks organized and customer-focused individuals, with demonstrated athletics experience and strong leadership skills, to support facility operations at athletics fields and facilities. This is a great opportunity for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy the field of athletics.
Extended Part-time: 30-32 hours per week, with evening, weekend, and holiday availability required. Future vacancies may be filled through this recruitment.
*Entry level minimum starting pay rate : $20.27 - $23.48 per hour.
*Beginning June 21, 2025: $22.09 - $29.02 per hour
The ideal candidates have two years of college or university level work in Recreation, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field and possess two years of related athletics experience.

I nterview: After a thorough review of applications, those candidates deemed most qualified as reflected in their application will be invited to an interview.
Background Check : A thorough background investigation will be conducted prior to appointment.
Medical Examination: A medical examination will be conducted, including a drug screening and proof of a negative TB test to ensure the ability to perform assigned duties. Please note: Although Proposition 64 legalized the personal use of marijuana in California, marijuana is a prohibited substance in the workplace. Marijuana detected in pre-employment drug screening may result in disqualification from employment based on applicable laws.
Future Vacancies: This recruitment may be used to fill future positions in similar and/or lower classifications within the organization.
Part-time employees are employed "at will" and their services can be discontinued without cause.
Certain City budgets may not include funding for mandated CalPERS employer contributions. A qualified candidate who is a current member of CalPERS may be restricted from temporary/part-time employment.
