    The Job

If so, we want you to be a part of our team at San Bernardino County Museum! We are looking for an experienced Museum Exhibit Fabricator to help design, fabricate, and install dynamic exhibits that captivate and inspire our visitors. Your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping the museum’s exhibitions and ensuring that each project exceeds the highest standards of quality and innovation.

    ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

    The San Bernardino County Museum is located in Redlands, and was founded in 1952. The San Bernardino County Museum contains exhibits and collections in cultural history and natural history. As part of the museum experience, there are public programs available for adults, families, students, and children. The San Bernardin County Museum strives to develop visitors’ appreciation of the diverse regional identity to spark curiosity, stimulate inquiry, challenge assumptions, and invite their contributions to the County of San Bernardino future.     CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must undergo a background check, which includes fingerprinting and a medical exam.

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday

    Travel: Travel throughout the County is required. A valid California Class C driver license is required at time of appointment, and must be maintained throughout employment. Employees in this class may be required to use personal vehicles and show proof of automobile liability insurance. Mileage reimbursement is available.

    Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider to candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.

    *Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Realignment Sales Tax Collections performance.

    Minimum Requirements

    EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of recent work experience in exhibit fabrication, set design, scenic carpentry, or a related field, such as stage design, set production, woodworking, fine carpentry, architectural drafting, metalworking, custom fabrication, and commercial construction.

    Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in exhibit construction, design, and installation, with a passion for bringing artistic and educational concepts to life, as well as proven experience working with complex carpentry techniques required for exhibit construction. E xperience in a museum setting is desirable.
