    Executive Assistant, Governor's Finance Office

    Recruitment Open To:
    This is an open competitive recruitment, open to all qualified applicants. This position is
    appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Director of the Governor's Finance Office.

    AGENCY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The Governor's Finance Office is responsible for developing and presenting a fiscally
    sound Executive Budget for the Executive Branch of state government that reflects the
    Governor's goals and provides oversight to state agencies. Other responsibilities include
    evaluating policies and providing direction to executive agencies; assisting agencies in
    the development of strategic plans and performance measures; monitoring and
    forecasting state revenues; and providing recommendations and support to the Board of
    Examiners. Statutory Authority: NRS 353.

    APPROXIMATE Annual Salary:
    Up to $79,532 plus benefits *Salary range reflects retirement (PERS) contributions by
    both the employee and employer. An employer-paid contribution plan is also available
    with a reduced gross salary.

    Benefits:
    The State benefits package includes a retirement system, paid health, vision, dental, life,
    and disability insurance; 12 paid holidays, and paid sick and annual leave. Other
    employee-paid benefits such as deferred compensation plans are available.

    Position Location: Carson City, Nevada

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:
    The Governor's Finance Office is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide direct support
    to the Director and the executive team. This position will be responsible for all
    administrative tasks in support of the Director, including but not limited to:
    • Managing executive team calendars, scheduling appointments, arranging
    meetings, preparing travel requests, securing room locations, equipment,
    teleconferencing, and any other applicable systems and materials as needed.
    • Office management; coordinating/manging office operations as necessary.
    • Assisting with department meetings; i.e., Executive Branch Audit Committee,
    Technical Advisory Committee to the Economic Forum, and the Interim Finance
    Committee.
    • Organizing and maintaining confidential records and files for the Director, ensuring
    information security.
    • Ensuring quality control of correspondence, form creation, reports, logs,
    presentations, charts, website updates, etc.
    • Writing and preparing concise, logical, and grammatically correct materials.
    • Contacting, coordinating, and communicating effectively with Governor's Office
    staff, legislators, legislative branch staff, internal & external agency executives,
    judicial branch staff, and the public.
    • Supervision: responsible for supervising two (2) Administrative Assistants.

    TO QUALIFY:
    Desired qualifications include graduation from high school or equivalent education. A
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration,
    public administration, or a closely related field is preferred.

    Applicants must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able
    to perform in a fast-paced work environment. Experience supporting executive staff is
    beneficial. Applicants must be professional well-organized, self-motivated, highly
    collaborative, ethical, and flexible.

    The presence of Nevada's earliest inhabitants, beginning about 12,400 years ago, is marked by many petroglyphs and archaeological sites. Baskets, decoys, and ingenious traps are evidence of the resourcefulness of these early people in a harsh and arid environment.

In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level.
