    Position Overview

    The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill two (2) Part-Time vacancies for the classification of Patrol Vehicle Attendant in the Police Department. The consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

    Under general supervision, performs manual labor of routine difficulty associated with transporting patrol vehicles to and from the City's Fleet Maintenance Section and outside service centers; and performs related duties as assigned.
    VACANCY INFORMATION:
    • This is a part-time, non-PERS eligible position.
    • This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits, paid time off, or wage increases.
    • This position requires enrollment in the City's Alternate Retirement Systems (ARS).
    • Work schedule will consist of an average of 19 hours/week. Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department need.
    • May be required to work a flexible work schedule, outside of normal business hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or extended hours.
    • The incumbents will not be working in a traditional office environment. Work is conducted at a base Henderson Police Station location, with travel occurring to other City of Henderson sites as determined through the course of work. Incumbent may expect tasks to regularly occur in an outdoor setting as well as exposure to varying weather conditions during the course of work.

    IDEAL CANDIDATE:
    The ideal candidate for this vacancy will be an enthusiastic multitasker who demonstrates flexibility with changing priorities and is well-suited to the physical work environment and standard tasks of a Patrol Vehicle Attendant. The ideal candidate possesses comfortability with operating and transporting automobiles as well as a strong attention to detail.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Graduation from high school, or the equivalent.
    • Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
    • Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check.
    • Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every two years.Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment.
    • Desirable: Experience in transporting automobiles and performing minor maintenance on automobiles for an agency or organization.

    The assessment and selection process for this position will take place on the dates listed above.     Selection Process

    The selection process will begin with an employment application package screening, with the best-qualified candidates being invited to participate further in the assessment process. This process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
