POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATIONThe Massage Therapist I position is responsible for providing a variety of safe and effective therapeutic massages while consistently exceeding guest expectations. This position demonstrates respect, sensitivity and concern for guest's needs in a professional manner, maintains and monitors work schedules as booked, exercises dependability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, upholds program standards of conduct, grooming, dress and personal hygiene, performs daily routine of set-up and breakdown procedures of massage rooms, and maintains a neat and well-stocked massage room. Recreation staff have the primary responsibility of ensuring the safety of program participants.

The availability of work hours for this position will be determined by one or all of the following factors: program length, weather, and budget. The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate.

GENERAL COMPETENCIES Job Specific - Every employee in this position must be able to:- Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of massage techniques
- Maintain a professional relationship with clientele
- Keep work areas clean and treatment rooms organized according to standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and SOAP notes
- Maintain storage areas to ensure cleanliness, freshness, and organization
- Provide at least five (5) hours of massage per shift not including set up and break down

Other Duties and Responsibilities Incumbent is accountable for all duties of this job, and other projects and responsibilities may be added at the City's discretion.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS/PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications Required :- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- First Aid, CPR and AED certification by the first day of employment
- Graduation from an accredited 500+ hour massage therapy school
- Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Colorado and listed with DORA or ability to obtain license prior to employment
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills may be considered.
Physical Requirements This position requires a moderate degree of physical stamina and strength, including the ability to:
- Frequently sit, stand and walk through a multi-level facility
- Occasionally squat, bend, kneel, twist, climb, balance and reach over head
- Occasionally lift, carry, push or pull items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
- Frequently use hands and fingers for fine manipulation; occasionally use light and firm grasp
- Frequently see objects up close to perform office tasks and far away to observe activity for safety hazards or problems
- Constantly use hearing to interact with guests and staff and recognize trouble outside of view
- Occasionally use sufficient physical strength, stamina and agility to perform emergency work in various capacities
WORKING CONDITIONS Work is constantly performed indoors with occasional outdoor activity.Indoor and outdoor work is performed in a high public use, multilevel recreation facility where loud noise and multiple events and activities at one time may cause a distraction. Exposure to periods of high activity and stress under demanding conditions.The position requires a great deal of communication with City employees, the public, and outside agencies.
Required Materials and Equipment Laundry is available on site in our facilities. Therapist will be responsible for doing laundry and assisting with organization and cleanliness of the treatment rooms. The City will provide all equipment and products needed to perform massage services; including massage tables, creams, stereo, towels, sheets, pillows and hydrocollator, laundry soap, etc.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Candidates must be legally entitled to work in the United States and must successfully pass a criminal background check, reference check, and substance screen. There may be additional pre-employment requirements depending on the nature of the position.
