Lifeguard at the EPIC Recreation Center for the 2025 Summer Season
Make a splash this summer as a Seasonal Lifeguard at The Epic Recreation Center! Keep swimmers safe by monitoring the water, enforcing pool rules, and ensuring a fun, secure environment for all. You'll also assist with water quality, special events, and customer service, all while being part of an energetic team. Essential Job Functions- Ensures the safety of the general public by enforcing pool rules and regulations; monitoring activities and providing assistance when necessary.
- Provides service to the general public by coaching swimming lessons; scanning the water to monitor activities; informing customers' of upcoming events and answering inquiries.
- Prepares facilities for special events by setting up tables and chairs and decorating.
Minimum Qualifications- Education : A high school diploma or GED
- License : Valid Texas Class C driver's license preferred.
- Certification : A Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross, YMCA, or Ellis), First Aid and CPR Certification is REQUIRED. Water Safety Instructor's (WSI) Certificate preferred. (Training will be provided upon hire)
For city employees who are regular part time (10-19 hours per week) or seasonal hired placed on City payroll, the following benefits are provided:- PARS - Public Agency Retirement System: the employee contributes 6.2% each paycheck to this retirement system and the city provides 1.3%. The employee does not pay into Social Security. All of the employees contributions may be withdrawn upon separating service from the city. The City's contributions will not be paid unless the employee retires under the system.
- Part time or seasonal employees are not eligible for any paid leave or other benefits.
- Part time or seasonal employees are limited to working only 1,000 hours per 12-month period, unless the seasonal is project based for a specific period of time which is typically less than 12-months.
