    PAID CDL TRAINING PROVIDED

    STARTING PAY: $19.75 - $21.89 PER HOUR BASED ON EXPERIENCE

    The Senior Park Maintenance Worker utilizes specialized and technical skills to complete and assist with park maintenance projects and repairs that contribute to the upkeep and functionality of City parks and other public outdoor spaces. They may also perform maintenance on park equipment used to perform a variety of mowing and landscaping tasks. The specific tasks performed are subject to the season and assigned area of responsibility.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Operates a variety of equipment such as riding mowers, tractors, athletic field preparation equipment, trucks with trailers, specialty mowing equipment, snow removal equipment, lifts, chainsaws and hand tools.
    • Performs a wide variety of manual labor tasks such as shoveling, planting trees, shrubs and flowers, landscape bed clean-up, snow removal duties, dragging and chalking athletic fields, dragging brush, mulching, lifting, and weed control.
    • Participates in median and public grounds landscaping; parks and grounds clean-up and housekeeping duties as assigned.
    • Performs on-call duties, overtime and other duties as required - including occasional weekend work.


    Qualifications

    Experience : Two years of park maintenance or forestry experience is required.

    Education : A h igh school diploma or equivalent is required.

    Licenses and Certifications : A valid driver's license and favorable driving record is required.A class A commercial driver's license with tanker and air brake endorsement is required within twelve months of employment.
