    The Position

    Mail Service staff process incoming and outgoing mail to ensure distribution to proper destination according to zip code, department, agency or other location.

    This recruitment is an underfill for Mail Service Clerk 2 position, located in the Carson City Mail Service's Division. The selected candidate will process incoming and outgoing mail both manually and by using postage meters and other various types of automated mailing equipment, to ensure the distribution of correspondence to their proper destinations as indicated by agency/department, street address, zip code, or other location-determine appropriate type of mailing service to use, based on delivery time and cost-drive a mail truck to deliver incoming and outgoing mail to departments, agency, campuses and the federal post office. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and six months of general clerical experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
