    The Position

    Bargaining Unit: Local 21 - Non-Supervisory Management
    Contra Costa County is recruiting to fill one (1) Aging and Adult Services Staff Assistant vacancy in the Employment and Human Services Department.

    • Supporting projects by coordinating resources, tracking deadlines, and communicating with team members
    • Serving as a liaison between departments to ensure smooth information flow
    • Managing invoices, expenses, and other financial tasks with accuracy

    Minimum Qualifications

    Licensed Required: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Out of State valid Motor Vehicle Operator's will be accepted during the application process.

    Experience: Eighteen months of full-time experience or its equivalent in an administrative position in a public or private human services agency program providing services to adults or the elderly, or as a program supervisor in a public or private human services agency.

    AND

    Education : Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business or public administration, social work, gerontology, social or behavioral sciences or a closely related field.

    Desirable Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
    • Experience in a government or public sector setting
    • Proficiency with office software and database management
    • Experience working with older adults
    • Knowledge of basic financial and budgeting practices
    • Experience with customer service or public relations
    • Bilingual abilities for enhanced client communication


    Selection Process

A completed Supplemental Questionnaire is required at the time of applying.Online Virtual Interview : Candidates who possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online interview. In the oral interview, candidates must achieve an average passing score of 70% or higher on each of the oral interview competencies, as well as an overall passing score of 70% or higher. The interview will measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the Aging and Adult Services Staff Assistant position ( Weighted 100%)


    The online interview will be administered remotely using a computer or mobile device such as a tablet. You will need access to a reliable internet connection to participate in the online interview, as well as computer or mobile device with a camera.

    The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

    CONVICTION HISTORY

    DISASTER SERVICE WORKER

    All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
