    The Job

    Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is hiring for Epic Principal Trainers who can train hospital, clinic, and revenue cycle staff on their Electronic Health Record (EHR) System, Epic. Principal Trainers develop training strategies for staff; design, build, and maintain training curriculums, lesson plans, training books, tip-sheets, and computer-based training modules for Epic Users. This position will create and manage the training materials, training environments, and learning management system competencies for module completion. The Epic Principal Trainer will also identify and credential other trainers to deliver end-user training to staff and be responsible for administering end user education associated with a portion of the following Epic application modules:

    ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER


    Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

    CONDITIONS OF EMLOYMENT

    Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a physical, background investigation, and verification of employment history, certifications, and education.

    Epic Certification: Incumbents must possess and maintain Epic certification in their assigned module. Some positions may require incumbents to obtain and maintain additional vendor specific certifications on the applications supported. Additional Epic certifications must be obtained within six (6) months of notification from a supervisor and/or management team. The Clinical Informatics Department reserves its right to extend beyond six (6) months if the core training class schedule falls outside of this period. If certification is not obtained after six (6) months of notification or the dedicated extended time allowance, the incumbent’s employment will be terminated.

    On-Call: Incumbents may be placed "On-Call" for nights,weekends, and holidays depending on the certified module.

    Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

    Minimum Requirements

    Candidates must meet both of the following Education and Experience requirements:

    Education:
    An Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
    • Substitution: One (1) additional year of qualifying experience as noted below may substitute for the education requirement.
    Experience:
    • Option 1: One (1) year of experience as an Epic Trainer training staff on the Epic Electronic Health System.
      -OR-
    • Option 2: Two (2) years of experience developing training programs, training curriculums and/or modules for adult learners in a professional environment (i.e. Hospitals, Corporations).
    ***Note: On-the-job training and mentoring experience is not considered formal training***

    Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will be Epic certified and have experience in systems training, preferably technical and clinical systems training (e.g. Epic or other clinical or EHR systems).
